About

Yagami Ren

Yagami Ren (born 18 May 1984) is a Japanese kinbaku artist internationally recognized for his distinctive style and powerful performances. He developed an early fascination with sadomasochism and rope, and at the age of 17 was deeply inspired by the work of Nawashi Kanna.
In 2011, Yagami became Kanna’s formal apprentice, refining his skills and performing in various events. A serious illness in 2012 brought him close to death, but after recovering he parted ways with his teacher and began developing his own path.

From 2013 onward, Yagami became active in live shows, magazines, and the adult video industry while establishing Yagami-ryū (Yagami style). This style, described as “karada o shibari, nagare o musubu” (“tie the body to establish a flow”), incorporates elements of aikidō and hojojutsu into rope bondage. It is grounded in erotic exchange as much as in aesthetics, expressed in his guiding motto “in jō bi baku” (“sensual rope, beautiful tie”).

In 2014, he founded the Yagami Juku, a dojo dedicated to the study and dissemination of his style, where students learn kinbaku, hojojutsu, and body techniques aimed at creating trance-like states in those who are tied.
Yagami Ren continues to perform and teach around the world, elevating kinbaku as both an erotic practice and a profound art of connection.
