Introduction to Yagami Style

In this workshop, Ren Yagami will teach the fundamentals of his unique Yagami Style.

This workshop is perfect not only for beginners who want to explore the Yagami Style but also for experienced riggers looking to incorporate its distinctive techniques into their repertoire.

The content will be tailored to the participants’ prior knowledge and learning pace, and may be adjusted throughout the session as needed.

Topics covered include:

• Introduction to Sekibaku – tying the body with flow

• Fundamentals of Taijutsu: body manipulation and its applications

• Avoiding reliance on arm or muscle strength

• Bringing the hands together and basic positions

• Basics of Hibarigote and, if applicable, Kanuki-shibari

• Shikake-Nawa

• Thinking backward from the goal: understanding the steps needed to achieve a predetermined outcome

• Multiplying fundamentals: Foundation × Foundation = Application

• Togi-nawa (attendant rope)

• Addressing individual wishes and questions from participants
